The Geriatrics Department of Hohhot First Hospital was established in 1995 and has a history of 20 years.

In 2010, with the aging of its service recipients and the increasing development of geriatric medicine, the department gradually developed into a comprehensive geriatric department serving elderly friends.

The Department of Geriatrics is a comprehensive internal medicine department that has its own characteristics in the diagnosis and treatment of common and frequently-occurring diseases such as respiratory diseases, cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases, digestive system diseases, and senile diabetes.

The medical staff in the department have rich clinical experience and mature diagnosis and treatment techniques for common diseases and frequently-occurring diseases in various systems of the elderly.

At the same time, according to the characteristics of the elderly with "more diseases per person", the department has established "large comprehensive and small specialties" and strives to create a "both comprehensive and specialized" diagnosis and treatment system.

The department has a high-quality medical service team, with 2 chief physicians, 1 deputy chief physician, and 3 attending physicians.

There are 45 open beds, 1 defibrillator, 7 ECG monitors, 1 multi-lead electrocardiograph, 3 24-hour ambulatory electrocardiographs, 5 24-hour ambulatory blood pressure monitors, 3 non-invasive ventilators, 1 infusion pump, 3 micropumps, and 1 blood gas analyzer.
