The Department of Surgical Anesthesiology of Peking University Cancer Hospital Inner Mongolia Hospital is a comprehensive clinical discipline integrating medical care, scientific research, and teaching.

After 65 years of development, the team size has continued to expand. With its reasonable personnel structure, standardized management, advanced facilities and mature technology, it has become the core platform for surgical safety and a key force in promoting comfortable diagnosis and treatment in hospitals.

The department is responsible for all-round work including clinical anesthesia, surgical cooperation, anesthesia recovery, critical illness rescue, acute and chronic pain treatment, comfortable medical care and day surgery.

There are currently 58 medical staff, equipped with 16 laminar flow operating rooms (including informationized hand anesthesia system) and a 4-bed anesthesia recovery unit (PACU).

The medical equipment has been fully upgraded and has advanced equipment such as high-end anesthesia machines, monitors, video laryngoscopes, electronic bronchoscopes, transthoracic cardiac Doppler ultrasound, EEG bispectrum analyzer (BIS), fully automatic blood gas and electrolyte analyzers, portable color Doppler ultrasound, defibrillators, multifunctional laparoscopes (including fluorescence and 3D technology), heating blankets, and blood transfusion and infusion warmers.

The work content of the anesthesiology department includes clinical anesthesia, anesthesia recovery room, critical illness rescue, acute and chronic pain treatment, comfort medicine and day surgery.

Since the hospital transformed into a cancer hospital in 2014, the number of operations has continued to increase, with an annual growth rate of 20%-30%. Anesthesia for various types of tumor surgeries is routinely performed. Among them, the proportion of anesthesia for difficult and critically ill and elderly patients with ASA III level and above is also increasing year by year. The high-quality anesthesia and perioperative management level provides a safety guarantee for the hospital's various operations, and plays an important role in the rescue, diagnosis and treatment of emergency and critical cases throughout the hospital.

The scope of painless diagnosis and treatment includes: painless gastroenteroscopy and painless endoscopic esophageal, stomach, colorectal tumor resection and treatment, painless abortion, painless diagnosis and curettage, painless hysteroscopy, painless cystoscopy, painless targeted interventional tumor treatment and many other comfortable diagnosis and treatment services.

A pain clinic was opened in 2018 and a pain ward was opened in 2019, which can treat all types of intractable pain, especially severe cancer pain.

The Anesthesiology Department of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region Cancer Hospital focuses on the common development of clinical, teaching and scientific research.

In terms of teaching, he is responsible for theoretical teaching, clinical internship and internship teaching for master's and undergraduate students of Inner Mongolia Medical University.

In terms of scientific research, it has a clinical and basic scientific research team with great development potential. The research areas include organ protection, prevention of immune dysfunction after tumor surgery, pain treatment, etc. It has been approved for 17 projects by the Inner Mongolia Natural Science Foundation, municipal and departmental projects, Medical University Youth Fund and hospital projects, and has obtained 3 utility model patents;

He has published more than 50 academic papers (including 5 SCI papers) and has achieved fruitful results in academic exchanges.
