The Head and Neck Surgery Department of the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region Cancer Hospital is a specialized surgical department set up in a cancer hospital. It is composed of the Department of Neurosurgery and the Department of Otolaryngology. It mainly treats thyroid disease, thyroid tumors, craniocerebral trauma, craniocerebral tumors, cerebrovascular diseases, nose and sinus, oral and maxillofacial, larynx, hypopharynx, cervical esophagus and other head, neck and maxillofacial diseases.

Currently there are 41 hospital beds.

There are currently 7 physicians, including 1 chief physician, 4 attending physicians, and 2 resident physicians, 4 of whom have master's degrees.

We attach great importance to the standardized treatment of thyroid cancer. During total thyroidectomy, we protect the recurrent laryngeal nerve and parathyroid glands at a high level. The incidence of postoperative hoarseness and hypocalcemia is extremely low. We attach great importance to the protection of function. While radically curing the tumor, we preserve the function to the greatest extent and achieve good therapeutic effects.

Actively cooperate with the minimally invasive interventional center to carry out radiofrequency ablation treatment of thyroid micronodules and microcarcinomas, which can save some patients with thyroid diseases from the pain of surgery. Actively cooperate with the Department of Nuclear Medicine to carry out radionuclide scans for thyroid diseases and postoperative iodine 131 treatment for thyroid cancer to further clarify the diagnosis and improve the treatment effect, so as to continuously improve the cure rate of thyroid diseases and the survival rate of thyroid cancer.

He has many years of experience in the rescue and treatment of critical and severe craniocerebral injuries, cerebrovascular diseases, brain tumors, as well as surgical and non-surgical treatment of coma and functional impairment.

Actively summing up clinical experience, in response to the problem of awakening patients in a vegetative state (vegetative state) caused by craniocerebral injuries, cerebrovascular accidents and other diseases in recent years, multidisciplinary collaborative comprehensive treatment plus rehabilitation, acupuncture, and functional exercise are carried out to promote awakening, with good results.

Actively develop new technologies and cooperate with Jingmeng High-tech Co., Ltd. to carry out stem cell transplantation to treat vegetative state and brain dysfunction caused by craniocerebral trauma and cerebrovascular disease.

There has also been great progress in the treatment of tumors and related diseases in the nose and sinuses, oral cavity, maxillofacial area, and larynx. In response to environmental changes and changes in people's living habits in recent years, common diseases such as allergic rhinitis and chronic pharyngitis are on the rise. The publicity of protective awareness has been strengthened, and new technologies (such as the use of plasma technology to treat allergic rhinitis, etc.) have been developed to minimize the pain of patients and treat diseases, which has been well received by the society.

Actively summarize clinical experience in medical treatment and nursing, carry out scientific research projects, write medical papers and publish them in domestic medical journals, so as to communicate and improve each other.
