The Department of Gynecology and Oncology of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region Cancer Hospital was transformed from the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology.
The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology was established in 1958. After nearly sixty years of development, it has been transformed into the Department of Gynecology and Oncology, with a total of 21 beds, 6 doctors, 1 with a senior professional title, 2 with associate senior professional titles, 3 master's degree students, and 12 nursing staff.
The Department of Gynecology and Oncology is one of the key development departments of our hospital, and some of its doctors have experience in further studies at major well-known cancer hospitals in China.
Since the establishment of the hospital, the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology has carried out hysterosalpingol angiography, prenatal examination, vaginal cytology examination, determination of female estrogen levels, gynecological pathology diagnosis and clinical application.
And successively carried out extraperitoneal cesarean section, lower uterine segment cesarean section, balloon assisted delivery to dilate the cervix to shorten the labor process, modified cesarean section, fallopian tube anastomosis and fallopian tube recanalization, cervical conization, vaginal cystorectal repair, vaginal hysterectomy and uterine Manchester surgery, pelvic floor broad ligament swelling Tumor resection, subtotal hysterectomy, total hysterectomy, systemic chemotherapy after radical ovarian cancer surgery, arterial embolization interventional treatment of late-stage massive bleeding of cervical cancer, cervical pregnancy, uterine fibroids and lower uterine segment scar pregnancy and other new technologies, as well as various emergency and critical rescues and diagnosis and treatment of difficult and complicated diseases in obstetrics and gynecology.
At the same time, it was at the leading level of professional technology in the autonomous region.
In 1984, our department was rated as a key discipline of the Ministry of Railways and a key department of the Railway Bureau;
Won the Science and Technology Progress Award from the Railway Bureau and was rated as “Advanced Collective” by the Autonomous Region Family Planning Commission;
Won the second prize of the 1994 Science and Technology Award from the Ministry of Health;
In 1995, it was awarded the title of "Baby-Friendly Hospital" by the Autonomous Region Health Department.
The current development direction of gynecology is centered on gynecological tumors and gradually expanded to the professional direction of gynecological cancer.

Doctors in the department are proficient in the diagnosis and treatment of benign and malignant gynecological tumors, such as: vulvar tumors, cervical intraepithelial neoplasia, cervical cancer, uterine fibroids, endometrial cancer, fallopian tube and ovarian benign and malignant tumors related factors, clinical and pathological staging, surgical treatment and standardized adjuvant radiotherapy and chemotherapy, advanced cancer pain analgesia, palliative care of advanced cancer, and complications management and supportive care.
