Targeted and Interventional Therapy

Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region Cancer Hospital

The Targeted Interventional Department of the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region Cancer Hospital is a comprehensive interventional treatment department focusing on tumor interventional treatment.

There are currently 42 beds, mainly providing treatments such as radiological intervention, ultrasound intervention, physical ablation, chemical ablation and inter-tissue radiotherapy.

In 1995, oncology clinicians took the lead in carrying out tumor interventional therapy in our hospital using digital gastrointestinal machines, laying the foundation for tumor intervention in our hospital.

In 1996, interventional treatment of liver cancer won the Technology Progress Award from the Hohhot Railway Bureau.

In 2001, the undergraduate department took the lead in carrying out radioactive seed implantation for tumor treatment in Inner Mongolia. In 2009, the Department of Targeted Intervention was officially established, and introduced advanced equipment such as the fourth generation argon-helium knife from the United States (the fourth in China at the time and the first in Inner Mongolia), radiofrequency ablation therapy instrument, body cavity thermal perfusion, interventional thermal perfusion, extracorporeal high-frequency hyperthermia instrument, immune enhancement therapy instrument, microwave therapy instrument and radioactive particle therapy planning system;

In 2011, our hospital took the lead in introducing high-energy ultrasonic focusing knife in our region.

The equipment currently available in the department: the fourth generation "argon-helium knife" imported from the United States;

High-intensity ultrasonic focusing knife;

Microwave tumor treatment instrument;

Cold polar radiofrequency ablation treatment system;

radioactive particle planning system;

Germany produces large-scale C-arm digital subtraction X-ray machines;

Color ultrasound machine imported from Japan;

Japanese rectovaginal B-ultrasound machine;

Interventional hyperthermia perfusion therapy system;

Body cavity hyperthermic perfusion therapy system;

Extracorporeal high frequency treatment system;

Immunomodulatory treatment systems, etc.

Projects carried out by the hospital are continuously promoted throughout the region.

In 2009, a conference on the establishment of the targeted interventional department and the promotion of new technologies was held, with more than 100 oncology clinical experts from our region participating.

The new technology has been recognized by colleagues and has been promoted to many hospitals in the region.

At the same time, we guided many hospitals in other provinces and cities to carry out this project and sent people to our hospital for further study.

Our hospital's recent use of the American ProwessBrachytherapy particle planning system combined with 3D printing technology to treat tumors is in a leading position in the medical field.

The department actively cooperates with Mongolia.

In 2010, he visited Mongolia to guide its interventional treatment of tumors.

In the same year, the president of the Mongolian Cancer Hospital and the director of the interventional department visited our hospital for a week of study and signed a joint research project on "Clinical Observation of Targeted Minimally Invasive Treatment of Liver Cancer".

The department treats hundreds of Mongolian patients every year.

Trusted by patients in Mongolia, the department has been repeatedly reported in Inner Mongolia Daily, China National Pictorial and major media in Mongolia. Among them, the article "My Chinese Colleague Iksei" is very inspiring and influential.

The nursing team continuously improves the level of basic nursing and specialist nursing, establishes and improves specialist disease nursing routines and health education, and strengthens the concept of hospice care for terminal cancer patients. This provides a strong guarantee for the department to strive to become a "high-quality nursing service demonstration ward" and lays the foundation for the overall work of the targeted interventional department.

The department will take the transformation and leap-forward development of the hospital as an opportunity to continuously innovate, work hard and make persistent efforts to promote the construction of a cancer hospital, better protect people's health and contribute to the field of medical and health technology.
