Department features and advantages

This undergraduate course is characterized by the diagnosis and treatment of mental illness through the integration of Chinese and Western medicine. In the three different stages of mental illness (early stage), acute stage and recovery stage, three treatment methods of traditional Chinese medicine, Western medicine and psychological therapy are respectively used to comprehensively promote the physical, psychological and social functional recovery of patients.

In the treatment, we make full use of the new technologies of modern medicine, while highlighting the advantages and characteristics of traditional Chinese medicine and acupuncture in the treatment of mental illnesses, integrating Chinese and Western medicine and complementing each other's advantages.

The main featured treatment items are:

⑴. Traditional Chinese medicine combined with western medicine treatment: Give full play to the dual advantages of "Western medicine has a rapid onset of action, and Chinese medicine treats the root cause", use strengths and avoid weaknesses, and complement each other to achieve the purpose of quickly improving symptoms, restoring social functions, and moving towards recovery as soon as possible, and can also reduce the adverse reactions of Western medicine.

⑵. Acupuncture treatment: It has good curative effect on schizophrenia, intractable auditory hallucinations, depression, insomnia, etc.

⑶. Auricular acupuncture treatment: It can regulate mood, improve sleep, and reduce adverse reactions such as constipation, increased blood sugar, and weight gain related to taking antipsychotic drugs.

⑷. Traditional Chinese Medicine Psychotherapy: The Department of Integrated Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine’s original "Improved Traditional Chinese Medicine Emotional Therapy", "Meridian Emotional Release Technology" and other unique traditional Chinese medicine psychological treatment techniques have good curative effects on various emotional disorders and psychological disorders.

⑸. Traditional Chinese Medicine Rehabilitation: We carry out special projects such as "Traditional Chinese Medicine Stress Reduction and Relaxation Therapy", Health Qigong "Ba Duan Jin", Yoga and other special projects. These rehabilitation projects internally refine the energy and spirit, and externally train the muscles, bones and skin. The movements are soft, slow, flexible and coherent. They are very suitable for patients with mental disorders and are very popular among patients.

⑹. Traditional Chinese medicine music therapy: Select the repertoire based on the characteristics of the five national modes of music of Gong, Shang, Jiao, Zheng and Yu and the relationship between the five internal organs and the five elements, so that patients can vent their inner emotions, correct misunderstandings, get a happy mood, and achieve the goals of treatment and health care and recovery.

⑺. Identification of TCM constitution: Studies have shown that constitutions can be divided into body constitutions, constitutions, and body diseases. Different TCM constitutions have different prone diseases and different methods of conditioning and health maintenance.

Based on the theory of traditional Chinese medicine, the unique TCM constitution identification method is used to adopt different treatment, rehabilitation and health guidance methods for different constitutions, highlighting the "people-oriented" service concept.
