Anesthesia Department

The Department of Anesthesiology (Surgical Anesthesia Department) of Xiyuan Hospital of China Academy of Chinese Medical Sciences is mainly responsible for clinical anesthesia, post-anesthesia care and treatment (PACU), acute and chronic pain treatment, postoperative pain and cancer pain treatment, painless and comfortable medical examination and treatment, etc., and assists all departments of the hospital in performing tracheal intubation emergency resuscitation and other related work for critically ill patients.

The department is committed to the development of anesthesia with integrated traditional Chinese and Western medicine, pain treatment with integrated traditional Chinese and Western medicine, and prevention and treatment of perioperative complications.

The surgical anesthesia department currently has 42 staff: 13 anesthesiologists, 8 anesthesia nurses, and 21 operating room nurses.

Among them, there are 1 third-level chief physician, 3 deputy chief physicians, 6 attending physicians, 2 resident physicians, 12 supervisory nurses, 12 nurse practitioners, and 5 nurses.

The department has 10 air purification operating rooms with advanced equipment and 3 outpatient operating rooms.

There are 11 beds in the post-anesthesia recovery room: 5 beds in the recovery room of the central operating room, 3 beds in the recovery room of the gynecology clinic, and 3 beds in the recovery room of the endoscopic center.

Anesthesiology equipment: German Drger anesthesia machine, British Blease anesthesia machine, Drger monitor, GE-Omeda anesthesia monitor, BIS anesthesia depth monitor, operating bedside blood gas monitor and other equipment, as well as video laryngoscope, fiberoptic bronchoscope and other difficult airway management tools.

The operating room is equipped with various advanced medical equipment such as German Drger professional pendant, Maquet operating bed, ERBE electrosurgical workstation, Stryker arthroscope, Olympus endoscopic, SIEMENSC arm machine, CellSaver5+ blood cell recovery machine, transforaminal scope, holmium laser lithotripsy, etc.

Clinical anesthesia, post-anesthesia recovery, emergency resuscitation, anesthesia consultation and evaluation clinic, pain-free diagnosis and treatment, etc.

Ability to skillfully carry out general anesthesia, spinal anesthesia and various nerve block anesthesia techniques, and master ultrasound-guided deep venous catheterization, arterial manometry, postoperative analgesia, pain treatment, etc.

Currently, we mainly perform various spinal surgeries, knee and hip replacements, and trauma and fracture surgeries;

Urology surgery mainly includes prostate surgery, laparoscopic adrenal surgery, renal surgery, percutaneous nephroscopic laser lithotripsy, transureteroscopic laser lithotripsy, etc.

General surgery mainly focuses on stomach and intestinal tumors, gallbladder and bile duct diseases, thyroid, breast and various hernia surgeries;

The Department of Peripheral Vascular Surgery mainly focuses on various vascular surgeries: including thrombectomy, thrombolysis, stent placement, artificial blood vessel bypass, amputation and other surgeries;

Anorectal department features PPH, TST and copper ion treatment;

Gynecology focuses on various painless treatments such as hysteroscopy, laparoscopic surgery, and family planning.

The main features of the ophthalmology department are cataract and fundus minimally invasive surgery in the elderly combined with acupuncture to treat eye diseases;

And assist the vascular department, cardiovascular department, and neurology department to complete the anesthesia and monitoring of interventional treatments in the catheterization laboratory;

At the same time, the anesthesiology department also cooperates with other departments to provide painless and comfortable medical services, such as painless gastric and enteroscopy, painless cystoscopy and hysteroscopy, etc., which can make various microscopic examinations and endoscopic treatments painless, and complete examinations and operations without any knowledge.
