Rehabilitation Department

The Department of Rehabilitation and Therapy at the West China Hospital of the Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences is an integrated clinical laboratory that combines Chinese medicine and rehabilitation with a three-dimensional treatment, teaching and research complex. It has developed into a clinical laboratory that is better able to treat various painful conditions such as pelvic floor disorders, osteoarthritis, shoulder joint inflammation, acute, chronic twitching, soft tissue closure injury, spinal cord injury, pelvic injury, gynecologic pelvic inflammation and attachment inflammation, and recovery from post-stroke hereditary conditions. The department has 11 physicians, primary care physicians and hospital residents with extensive clinical and teaching experience, equipped with a combination of therapists, low-frequency therapists, infrared pain therapists, spinal cord drainers, medication steamers, neuromuscular rehabilitation machines, and various instruments that guide patients with stroke post-traumatic stress disorder through rehabilitation training, among others. The outpatient clinic has a stroke rehabilitation training area, a traditional medicine treatment area, and a chemotherapy area.
