Geriatrics Department

The Department of Aging at the West China University of Medical Sciences was established in 1981, by Chen Ko, Prof. Zhouwen Quan and other senior experts of the old generation, and is the first Chinese-Western medical institution to combine clinical, scientific research on aging diseases with a national research institute.After more than 40 years of construction, its work has been well developed, building a large integrated medical, scientific, and integrated research institute. It is a priority specialty of the National Health Committee; a priority specialty of the National Medical Administration of China; a priority specialty of the National Center for Disease Control of Mental Illness; a regional clinical center for diseases of the elderly in China; a Beijing City Center for Mental Illness, which is the unit that coordinates the co-operation of the medical community in Beijing; and an excellent research specialty of the Ailipi China Hospital. The National Ministry of Education, PhD, MSc graduate award points, post-doctoral flow stations are the dependent units of the Chinese Chinese Medical Association's Joint Committee on Veterinary Medicine and Aging, the Chinese Medical Association's Joint Committee on Veterinary Medicine and Aging, the World Medical Association's Senior Medical Council, the Chinese Pharmaceutical Research Council, and other professional committees. The Department of Medicine has conducted extensive, multi-faceted and in-depth research on the treatment of elderly diseases in Chinese medicine, achieving more progress and results.
