Hepatology Clinic

Guang'anmen Hospital, Chinese Academy of Chinese Medical Sciences

Hepatitis Clinic of Guang'anmen Hospital, China Academy of Chinese Medical Sciences is the team leader unit of the State Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine's "Twelfth Five-Year Plan" key liver disease specialty, the Liver Disease Clinical Research Base Branch Center of the Ministry of Science and Technology, and the National Key R&D Program for Modernization of Traditional Chinese Medicine Research "Clinical Research on the Treatment of Chronic Hepatitis B Viral Liver Disease with Yinqi Sanhuang Jiedu Decoction".

Under the leadership of Professor Yao Naili (a national-level veteran Chinese medicine doctor, a famous doctor of traditional Chinese medicine in the capital, and a famous liver disease expert) and Professor Lu Wenliang (vice president of Guang'anmen Hospital, and the person in charge of the modernization research of traditional Chinese medicine under the national key R&D program), the department adheres to the principle of "inheriting the essence, keeping integrity and innovating". "The concept is based on inheriting and carrying forward the academic thoughts and clinical experience of famous traditional Chinese medicine, learning from the past without following the past, innovating without departing from the tradition, emphasizing the application of the past to the present, emphasizing both Chinese and Western medicine, guided by scientific research and innovation, with the purpose of improving clinical efficacy, and with patient satisfaction as the fundamental foothold.

The department currently has 2 well-known experts, 4 deputy chief physicians, and 2 attending physicians.

Among them, 5 have doctoral degrees, 2 have master’s degrees, and 1 has a bachelor’s degree.

In view of the etiology and pathogenesis proposed by the academic leader, Professor Yao Naili, "epidemic poison damages the liver, retention of dampness and heat, imbalance of the liver and spleen, and poison damage to the liver collaterals", the academic successors of the department conducted in-depth discussions on theoretical and clinical experimental research, and gradually formed a syndrome differentiation and treatment system with traditional Chinese medicine characteristics of chronic hepatitis-liver fibrosis-early cirrhosis.

Under the guidance of this theoretical understanding, the advantages of traditional Chinese medicine can be used to treat liver fibrosis, cirrhosis, fatty liver disease, alcoholic liver disease, autoimmune liver disease, primary liver cancer, hypochondriac pain and other hepatobiliary system diseases caused by various causes, showing obvious characteristics of traditional Chinese medicine and achieving very good clinical effects.

The department has special outpatient clinics such as "fatty liver", "cirrhosis", "alcoholic liver disease" and "hypochondriac pain".
