Anesthesia and Surgery Center

The Second Affiliated Hospital of Inner Mongolia Medical University

The Anesthesia Surgery Center was established in 1985 and is the center of clinical work within the hospital. In 2014, the Anesthesiology Branch of the Chinese Medical Association awarded the department the "National Regional Anesthesia Training Center." In 2015, it was rated as the "National Orthopedic Anesthesia Training Center" by the Anesthesiology Branch of the Chinese Medical Association. In 2017, it was rated as the "Resident Physician Standardized Training Collaborative Base." In 2018, it was awarded the "School-Level Talent Team of Inner Mongolia Medical University." The department was rated as an advanced collective of the hospital five times. In 2017 and 2021, he was awarded the department's "Prairie Talent Industrial Innovation Team" by Inner Mongolia Medical University. The department now has 21 operating rooms, including 7 with 100-level laminar flow, 14 with 10,000-level laminar flow, 1 interventional surgery room, 1 negative pressure surgery room, a recovery room with 11 beds, and an annual operation volume of more than 20,000 times. When the anesthesia surgery center was established, it was positioned as a specialist anesthesia department. After several generations of hard work, the department has gradually formed its own medical characteristics, such as blood protection and blood purification technology; multi-approach brachial plexus block technology based on subcoracoid brachial plexus block; cervical epidural closure to treat sympathetic cervical spondylosis; anesthesia treatment for elderly patients;Difficult airway management, especially airway management for patients with cervical spinal cord injury; ultrasound-guided nerve block. In the past ten years, the Department of Surgical Anesthesiology has developed more than 70 new technologies and new businesses. It has cooperated with various clinical departments to complete many difficult surgeries, including the autonomous region's first robot-assisted hip replacement and the first "one-stop" cryoballoon ablation combined with left atrial appendage occlusion, etc. Currently, the department has 33 anesthesia staff, 58 nursing teams, and 4 intraoperative imaging staff, including 6 chief physicians, 4 deputy chief physicians, and 19 attending physicians; 3 doctoral candidates, 27 with master's degrees, and 4 PhD candidates. The department currently has 1 doctoral supervisor and 6 master's supervisors, and has trained more than 30 graduate students. It has trained many outstanding anesthesiologists for the medical industry. In terms of teaching, the department is responsible for the teaching tasks of undergraduates, graduate students, regular trainees and various types of advanced training personnel. The department has a strong teaching and learning atmosphere. Adhering to the concept of "teaching and mutual benefit", the department has formed a fixed learning model, which mainly includes daily English morning handover, weekly English literature study; twice monthly case discussion study;Weekly anesthesia professional knowledge learning, as well as study lectures held by the department from time to time, constantly enrich and improve medical-related knowledge through learning. Scientific research is another outstanding advantage of the development of the department. Through the unremitting persistence and efforts of department members, scientific research has achieved great results. In the field of anesthesia in our district, it is currently the only department that has received two National Natural Science Foundation funds. In the past ten years, the department has been approved for 75 teaching and scientific research projects, with more than 3 million yuan in funding. In 2021, the department has been approved for 18 projects, with 900,000 yuan in scientific research funding, a record high. At present, the department has formed 4 main research directions, namely: perioperative neurocognitive disorders; pulmonary embolism and lung protection; local anesthesia neurotoxicity and local anesthetic nerve damage and protection related research. Department staff have published more than 100 scientific research papers, including 8 SCI indexes and 6 Chinese core papers. They have won the first and third prizes of the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region Science and Technology Progress Award, and the first and second prizes of the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region Medical Association Science and Technology Award. and 1 second prize of Hohhot Science and Technology Progress Award.
