The Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Medicine, affiliated with the Capital Medical University, Beijing, is a clinical department that integrates teaching and research into the study of oral and maxillofacial diseases.In 2012, to meet the needs of professional development, the Department of Peripheral Medicine emerged as an independent department from the Department of Dental Medicine and became an independent specialized department. The Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Medicine is primarily engaged in the diagnosis and treatment of various diseases of the oral and maxillofacial membranes; at the same time, it has extensive clinical experience in the diagnosis of various dental conditions. More common oral membrane diseases such as recurrent oral cavities, flatulence, white spots in the mouth, chronic red disc ulceration, radiation and chemotherapy, allergic eczema, and various diseases of the lip. Treatments for oral membrane disease mainly include topical and full-body drug therapy, combination therapy in Western medicine, laser treatment, optical power therapy, ultrasound infusion and surgical removal, etc.
