The Genetic Diagnostics Center of the Beijing Hospital for Women, affiliated with the Capital Medical University (CMU), as one of the first medical institutions to implement prenatal diagnostics in the country and one of the first six genetic diagnostics centers in Beijing, plays a major role in improving the birth control capacity of Beijing City and even nationwide. Since 2017, the hospital has been pooling resources across all hospitals to establish a single-stop genetic diagnosis department, set up an obstetric clinical group, a prenatal ultrasound diagnostic group and a laboratory group of prenatal diagnostic centers, providing patients with a full range of accurate diagnostic services.The center employs 47 prenatal diagnostic staff, including 4 genetic counselors, each in senior positions; 26 obstetricians who have been consulted before birth, all in senior secondary positions; 7 ultrasound diagnostics professionals, all in senior secondary positions; 9 technicians with the diagnostic qualification of a cell genetics laboratory, 6 of whom are in middle-level positions or above.
