Beijing Tongren Hospital, Affiliated to Capital Medical University
The Ophthalmic Trauma Department of Beijing Tongren Hospital Affiliated to Capital Medical University was established in 1968. It is the first ocular trauma department in China that integrates clinical, scientific research and teaching.
Beijing Tongren Eye Trauma Specialist has strong technical strength and reasonable disciplinary echelon. It has nearly 20 senior professionals with the title of deputy chief physician or above, including many experienced and prestigious experts and professors.
The number of expert outpatient visits is more than 1,700 per month, there are more than 50 fixed hospital beds, and the annual operation volume is more than 5,000.
The Ocular Trauma Specialty of Beijing Tongren Hospital has accumulated experience from generations of eye trauma patients and decades of clinical practice diagnosis and treatment experience. It has formed a set of eye trauma diagnosis and treatment routines with its own characteristics and a good reputation in the industry at home and abroad. It has now developed into a large-scale eye trauma specialty with strong comprehensive technical strength in my country.
In addition to performing surgeries for common diseases such as cataract extraction, intraocular lens implantation, lens dislocation and subluxation removal, intraocular lens/tension ring dislocation and subluxation reduction, vitrectomy, intraocular foreign body removal, retinal incarceration, retinal detachment reduction and other surgeries, the eye trauma specialist department performs surgeries.
It has also extensively carried out combined anterior and posterior segment surgeries for various complex eye injuries, and is good at treating patients with all kinds of difficult and severe eye injuries. Its diagnosis and treatment of eye trauma-related diseases such as various difficult and high-risk complex vitreoretinopathy, anterior segment disorders, early atrophy of the eyeball, tiny foreign bodies in the posterior chamber, infectious eye diseases, complex iridocycliary body lesions and severe ocular chemical injuries after eye trauma is at the international leading level.
This is a referral center for patients with complex ocular trauma in China, enabling many complex and difficult fundus and ocular trauma diseases that were previously untreatable to be successfully treated.
In recent years, the Department of Ocular Trauma has taken the lead in developing new technologies in the diagnosis and treatment of various eye injuries and fundus diseases in China, including retinal detachment reduction under microendoscopy, removal of intraocular foreign bodies, and endoscopic cyclophotocoagulation for refractory glaucoma, etc., providing new treatment approaches for patients with eye trauma.
Including 23G and 25G minimally invasive vitreoretinal surgeries, minimally invasive vitreoretinal surgeries are actively carried out under the guidance of "minimally invasive awareness" to achieve optimal surgical results with minimal invasion or damage.
In addition, we carry out iris and pupil damage repair, iris intraocular lens implantation, interscleral intraocular lens fixation, artificial corneal lens vitreous surgery combined with corneal transplantation, minimally invasive vitreous surgical treatment of various types of vitreoretinopathy in children, minimally invasive vitreous surgical treatment of complex eye injuries in children, anti-VEGF drugs to treat traumatic neovascular diseases, etc.
As a department with the characteristics of colleagues, the Department of Ocular Trauma pays special attention to cooperation with brother specialties such as oral and maxillofacial surgery, neurosurgery, rhinology, etc., and is unique in the country in the development of cross-disciplinary disciplines.
The Department of Ocular Trauma and the Department of Otolaryngology have established a nose-eye related center, and jointly carry out orbital wall fracture repair surgery under a composite approach, optic canal decompression with multiple therapies, nasolacrimal duct surgery with nasal bone fractures and orbital-sinus foreign body removal, and multi-disciplinary, multi-level and multi-section combined treatment for orbital surface composite trauma;
Cooperating with neurosurgery, we took the lead in developing transcranial microscopic optic canal decompression and opening surgery and orbito-cranial foreign body removal surgery, which greatly improved the success rate of surgery.
The Department of Ocular Trauma of Beijing Tongren Hospital is a discipline with a long history, a complete talent echelon, integrating medical education, research and prevention, and distinctive clinical characteristics.
The eye trauma team is a team full of vigor, serious responsibility, unity and improvement, sincere cooperation, and emphasis on inheritance and development!
