In 2013, it was approved as "Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region Key Laboratory of Molecular Imaging", in 2014 it was approved as "Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region Molecular and Functional Imaging Engineering Technology Center" and "Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region Industrial Innovation Team", in 2015 it was approved as "Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region Science and Technology Innovation Team", in 2016 it was awarded "Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region Medical and Health Leading Discipline", in 2021 it was approved as "Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region Federation of Trade Unions Innovation Studio". The department currently has 39 people, including 1 subject leader, 10 academic backbones, 4 senior staff, 11 deputy senior staff, 1 doctoral supervisor, 9 master supervisors, 7 PhD students, and 8 master students. There is 1 special expert from the State Council, 4 grassland talents from the autonomous region, 5 from the first and second levels of the New Century 321 Talent Project, and 2 from the first and second levels of the “Prairie Talents” project youth innovative talent training program. 5 visiting scholars from the National PET Center of Finland, University of Louisville, Children's Hospital of Philadelphia, California State University, Long Beach and other famous universities. The department currently covers an area of about 5,000 square meters and is equipped with 1 PET/MRI, 2 PET/CT, 2 SPECT/CT, 1 SPECT, 1 bone density meter, 1 small gamma camera, 1 small animal PET/CT, 1 small animal SPECT, 1 small animal fluorescence imager, 1 autoradiograph and 2 cyclotrons, 10 standardized synthesis and dispensing hot chambers, 8 automated synthesis modules, etc. Each year, more than 15,000 PET/CT and SPECT/CT examinations are completed, more than 220,000 in vitro tests such as radioimmunoassay are completed, and more than 800 radionuclide treatments are performed. It has independently produced and synthesized more than 20 kinds of radiopharmaceuticals using cyclotrons, and independently eluted more than 20 kinds of labeled radiopharmaceuticals. It is also constantly innovating and developing new imaging agents. Among them, the research and development of cardiac receptor imaging agents has filled the gap in domestic research in this area.In recent years, the department has undertaken more than 100 scientific research projects, including 16 from the National Natural Science Foundation (including 1 from the Joint Fund), 1 major instrument invention from the Ministry of Science and Technology, 1 major science and technology project from the Autonomous Region, more than 10 major and key projects from the Natural Science Foundation of the Autonomous Region, won 1 third prize of the Chinese Medical Science and Technology Award, more than 40 science and technology awards such as the First Prize of the Autonomous Region Natural Science Award, and obtained more than 30 invention patents.
