Beijing Tiantan Hospital, Affiliated to Capital Medical University

The Neurointerventional Center of Beijing Tiantan Hospital is currently the largest neurointerventional center in China. The department was established in 1996. It is the earliest interventional ward established in China that specializes in the treatment of cerebral and spinal vascular diseases.

The main diseases treated by the department include: intracranial and extracranial artery stenosis, intracranial aneurysm, cerebral arteriovenous malformation, dural arteriovenous fistula, acute cerebral arterial occlusion, venous sinus thrombosis, spinal cord vascular malformation and other brain and spinal cord vascular diseases.

The center currently has two wards, Neurointerventional Ward 1 and Neurointerventional Ward 2, with a total of 68 beds and 32 doctors, including 7 doctoral supervisors, 3 master's supervisors, 14 chief physicians, and 8 deputy chief physicians.

Currently, the neurointerventional center is equipped with 6 cath labs and a new digital classroom, which provides a strong guarantee for clinical medicine, teaching, and research.

Under the leadership of Professor Miao Zhongrong, director of the center, the department has completed more than 2,000 interventional procedures every year in recent years. Among them, stent treatment of intracranial artery stenosis and interventional treatment of complex intracranial aneurysms are at the internationally advanced level. It has won multiple provincial and ministerial scientific progress awards, won recognition from experts in the field of neurointervention and praise from patients, and achieved good social benefits.

Relying on the powerful neuroscience platform of Tiantan Hospital, the Neurointerventional Center has carried out long-term and close cooperation with the neurosurgery, neurology and neuroimaging departments to optimize the disease treatment process to the greatest extent, so that cerebrovascular patients can receive one-stop diagnosis and treatment at the center.
