Department

The Department of External Circulation at the Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences is known in the industry for its robust technical strength, sophisticated medical standards and rigorous academic approaches. In the early 50s and 60s, under the leadership of renowned surgeons such as Shandeyan, Xu Kucheng, Hu Xiaocheng, and others, in 1994 the OTC department was formally established as an independent clinical department, with Professor Longmura serving as the first director of OTC in 2014. The Center has now developed into a comprehensive clinical, teaching and research unit that is integrated with clinical, scientific, and educational institutions, achieving a number of outstanding results in clinical, research, and teaching, reaching an international level. More than 95% of doctors hold a master's degree, including 6 physicians-directors, 11 deputy physicians-directors, 14 primary care physicians, 5 hospital doctors, including 3 doctoral instructors, 4 master's instructors, and more than 30 postgraduate physicians.
