The department has 4 chief physicians, 6 deputy chief physicians, and 4 attending physicians; 5 resident physicians, 19 supervisory nurses, and 12 nurse practitioners. Chen Xin, the department director, is a standing committee member of the Anti-Aging Research Branch of the Chinese Geriatric Healthcare Medical Research Association, a standing director of the Respiratory Diseases Committee of the World Federation of Chinese Medicine Societies, and has served as a member of the Respiratory and Sleep Disorders Group of the Respiratory Branch of the Chinese Medical Association, secretary of the Asthma Group of the Respiratory Branch of the Chinese Medical Association, liaison of the Chinese Asthma Alliance, editor-in-chief of the Chinese Asthma Alliance website editorial committee, member of the Sleep Medicine Expert Committee of the Chinese Medical Doctor Association, member of the Sleep Medicine Branch of the Chinese Association for the Promotion of International Healthcare International Exchange, and a visiting scholar of geriatric medicine at Massachusetts General Hospital, Harvard Medical School in the United States. Integrated traditional Chinese and Western medicine treatment for chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, allergic asthma, and unexplained cough. 2. Airway management and prevention and treatment of pulmonary infection in elderly patients with respiratory failure. 3. Diagnosis and treatment of memory disorders and dementia in the elderly; integrated traditional Chinese and Western medicine treatment of memory disorders in the elderly. 4. Traditional Chinese medicine treats sleep disorders. 5. Integrated traditional Chinese and Western medicine treatment of depression and anxiety disorders in the elderly. 6. Management of senile frailty and prevention and treatment with integrated traditional Chinese and Western medicine. 7. Establishment and promotion of a full-cycle rehabilitation system for chronic pulmonary diseases in the elderly: On behalf of the Respiratory Center, the department presided over a 13th Five-Year Plan national key research and development plan project "Research on the Rehabilitation System for Common Cardiopulmonary Diseases in the Elderly (2018YFC2002304)", and collaborated with Shanghai Zhongshan Hospital, Wuhan Zhongnan Hospital, West China Hospital, Zhengda Fifth Affiliated Hospital and Hainan Provincial People's Hospital to explore and build a full-cycle rehabilitation model for chronic cardiopulmonary disease (COPD) in the elderly that is suitable for China's actual conditions. 2. Research on biological standards in the pathogenesis of chronic heart failure in the elderly: Dr. Yang Mengxi of the department has been assisting Director Ren Jingyi of the Department of Cardiology. He has participated in many national projects and published 5 SCI papers. He has hosted and completed a China-Japan Friendship Hospital Youth Fund, "Research on the Action Mechanism of CETP Gene on High-density Lipoprotein in the Process of Atherosclerosis" (2017-1-QN-10).3. Traditional Chinese medicine treatment of senile frailty: Li Qiubing, deputy chief physician of the department, has been engaged in the diagnosis and treatment of senile frailty and senile memory disorders with integrated traditional Chinese and Western medicine all year round. 4. Chinese medicine treatment of Alzheimer’s disease: The acceleration of population aging has caused the number of Alzheimer’s patients to increase year by year, bringing serious family, social and economic burdens. Deputy Chief Physician Li Qiubing has been engaged in research on the prevention and treatment of Alzheimer's disease with traditional Chinese medicine for a long time. The clinical application of Shenghui Yizhi Decoction in the treatment of this disease has achieved remarkable results. In 2021, the department applied for a youth project at the China-Japan Friendship Hospital level (2020-1-QN-8), with a view to elucidating the mechanism of action of this compound in treating dementia.
