The Department of Dermatology was established in 1984 by Professor Chen Xitang, former chairman of the Dermatology Branch of the Chinese Medical Association. Over the years, with the unremitting efforts of the older generation of experts and professors such as Chen Xitang, Fan Lianjie, Zou Mingxi, Xu Shen, Huang Jingyan, Yang Huilan, Qian Wenyan and all doctors, the department has continued to enrich, progress and develop, forming a clinical specialty featuring traditional Chinese and Western medicine. Since 2015, under the leadership of Professor Cui Yong, the director of the introduction department, the medical teaching and research of the discipline have developed comprehensively, forming a development model of "one body and two wings". The dermatology clinic + ward of the main department are one body, and the West District Hair Medicine Center + the cosmetic dermatology department of the international department are two discipline wings. The rankings of Fudan University and the Academy of Medical Sciences have rapidly improved, and have remained in the top 20 in the past three years. The discipline is currently the leading discipline in the fields of skin imaging, teledermatology and dermatology artificial intelligence in China, and has formed characteristics in the field of integration of medicine and engineering (microneedle research and development, skin care product research and development, etc.). Outpatient clinics and wards: The department opens specialized outpatient clinics for psoriasis, psoriasis with integrated traditional Chinese and Western medicine, hair, scars, acne, eczema, sexually transmitted diseases, and cosmetic dermatology. The inpatient ward has a total of 10 beds. In 2017, the West District launched a hair medicine center and established a hair medicine consortium. In 2017, the International Department launched the International Department of Cosmetic Dermatology. Diagnosis and treatment features of the department: (1) Skin Digital Imaging Center: It is the leader of my country's skin imaging group and the leading unit of China's skin imaging technology system. It has non-invasive examinations such as dermoscopy, skin three-dimensional CT, skin high-frequency ultrasound, and VISIA skin detectors, providing powerful tools for the diagnosis and treatment of diseases. It has a strong dermatopathology team and has opened a remote diagnosis center. It cooperates with high-level hospitals at home and abroad to organize experts to conduct remote pathology review, saving patients time and obtaining professional diagnosis and treatment.(2) Cosmetic Dermatology Department of the International Department: It has a variety of laser treatment projects for scars, acne, anti-aging, facial rejuvenation, freckle removal, hair removal, blood vessel removal, etc., and also provides botulinum toxin injection, hyaluronic acid injection, and fruit acid skin peeling treatment to create a young and beautiful appearance for you. (3) Psoriasis Center of Integrated Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine: Psoriasis is a traditional advantage of our department, and we have many years of experience in the treatment of integrated traditional Chinese and Western medicine. We use cutting-edge international medicines combined with traditional Chinese medicine therapies, along with ultraviolet light, medicated baths, and acupuncture treatments to provide individualized and standardized treatment to patients, achieving good results. (4) Dermatology Surgery, Hair Center, Scar Center: Carry out multiple surgical treatment projects such as benign and malignant skin tumors, pigmented nevus, scar tissue removal and comprehensive treatment, hair transplantation, etc., which are at the advanced level in the country. Medical features: (1) Diagnosis and treatment of common diseases and difficult and severe diseases: treatment of common diseases such as eczema, atopic dermatitis, herpes zoster, psoriasis, skin tumors, fungal infections, sexually transmitted diseases, etc., as well as diagnosis and treatment of difficult and severe diseases such as pemphigus, pemphigoid, autoimmune diseases, vasculitis, severe drug eruptions, genetic diseases, etc. (2) Special inspection items: Microscope detection of various dermatophytes and scabies infections, and patch testing to detect various allergens.STD examinations include human papillomavirus infection, gonorrhea, mycoplasma, ureaplasma, AIDS, syphilis, etc. (3) Special physical therapy: laser cryotherapy to treat various skin warts, age spots, vegetations, and skin tumors. Photodynamic therapy treats genital warts, acne, and malignant skin tumors. Electrolysis therapy treats hemangioma and syringoma. Gem laser treatment for onychomycosis. Semiconductor laser treats infectious skin diseases such as herpes zoster, erysipelas, and boils. It has published nearly 100 SCI papers and has appeared on the front page of the "Health News" twice.It has a high level of research in the fields of research on susceptibility genes for hereditary skin diseases, the pathogenesis and diagnosis and treatment of psoriasis, research on hair diseases, integrated traditional Chinese and Western medicine, early diagnosis and standardized treatment of cutaneous lymphoma, research on the immunological microenvironment of atopic dermatitis and the intervention mechanism of traditional Chinese medicine. Teaching situation of the department: The subject has long been deeply involved in the construction of the "Dermatology and Venereology" textbook in my country, serving as the chief editor and deputy editor of various textbooks for undergraduates, regular trainees, postgraduates and long-term students. It serves as the deputy director of the editorial board of "Dermatology and Venereology" of the National Terminology Committee. It is the director of the Department of Dermatology and Venereology of Capital Medical University. It has 3 doctoral supervisors and 5 master's degree supervisors, who are responsible for teaching graduate and undergraduate students from Peking University School of Medicine, Peking Union Medical College, Beijing University of Chinese Medicine, and Capital Medical University. It is also a standardized training base for dermatology residents in Beijing. The department received honors:1. Dr. Professor Cui Yong has successively won the China Youth Science and Technology Award (2010), the second prize of the National Science and Technology Progress Award (2007), the first prize of the Chinese Medical Science and Technology Award (2006, 2008, 2020), the first prize of the Beijing Science and Technology Progress Award (2020), the first prize of the Anhui Province Natural Science Award (2019), and the second prize of the Natural Science Award of the Ministry of Education. Professor Zhang Xiaoyan won the Beijing March 8th Red Flag Medal and the honorary title of Outstanding Young and Middle-aged Physicians in Beijing in 2012.
