Department development history: In December 2011, China-Japan Hospital established the Oral Medicine Center, which consists of five departments: General Stomatology, Orthodontics, Oral Medicine, Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, and Prosthodontics. At the end of June 2012, it moved from Building B to Building M. Since then, the Dental Medicine Center has occupied the 3rd, 4th, and 7th floors of Building M, and its scale has expanded from 30 dental chairs to 80 dental chairs. In 2013, it became the organizer of "Journal of General Stomatology". In 2015, it became the chairman unit of the General Dental Committee of the Chinese Stomatological Association. At the end of 2015, it became the eight-year clinical teaching practice base of Peking University School of Stomatology. The staff composition of the department: the current department director is Sun Qiang, the deputy directors are Li Jing and Yuan Xuguang, the head nurses are Zhang Ying and doctors Shi Weiwei, 69 people, 95 nursing staff and 13 technical staff. The Stomatology Center currently has 89 dental treatment chairs and 8 hospital beds. Outpatient and ward settings: The Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery currently has 8 open beds. The diagnosis and treatment diseases include oral and maxillofacial tumors, jaw and soft tissue cysts, salivary gland (parotid, submandibular, and sublingual gland) tumors, maxillofacial trauma, maxillofacial trauma, maxillary and mandibular, zygomatic bone, zygomatic arch, orbital fractures, oral and maxillofacial infections, orthognathic surgery, etc.Currently, he is responsible for one of the “Capital Clinical Characteristics Applied Research” projects in Beijing, and the project name is “Clinical Research on Submandibular Gland Metastasis to Prevent Dry Mouth in Patients with Head and Neck Cancer after Radiotherapy.” Diagnostic and treatment features of the department: 1. As a national large-scale general hospital and the vice-chairman unit of the Chinese General Oral Medicine Professional Committee, our department is at the domestic advanced level in the comprehensive treatment of oral diseases and systemic diseases, as well as the comprehensive treatment of various oral medicine specialties. The general oral medicine specialty involves oral medicine (endodontics, periodontics, mucosa, children's dentistry), maxillofacial surgery, prosthodontics, oral aesthetics, and oral emergency. We strive to achieve the comprehensive treatment goal of solving all oral problems without changing clinics. It avoids the trouble of patients traveling to various clinics in the hospital, implements the first-diagnosis responsibility system, and provides patients with convenient and comprehensive oral medical services. 2. Orthodontics major In the field of domestic orthodontics, our department has obvious advantages in many technologies. Among them, lingual invisible orthodontic technology is at the leading level in the country, and it is at the domestic advanced level in adult orthodontics and early orthopedic treatment of severe dentofacial deformities. The application of implant anchorage technology is a milestone in the development of orthodontics, and the success rate of our department’s implant anchorage system is in a leading position in the country.3. The Department of Oral Implantology has been carrying out oral implantation for more than ten years. As a specialty of the department, it has established an implant specialty composed of surgeons, prosthodontists, and periodontists, which can provide patients with systematic and comprehensive diagnostic and treatment services. All chief physicians, deputy chief physicians and specialist doctors have received systematic and formal professional training abroad. 4. The dental endodontics professional department has the most advanced root canal treatment technology and equipment in the world. For calcified and re-treated teeth, ordinary root canal treatment often cannot achieve satisfactory root canal treatment results. Dental operating microscopes, ultrasonic root canal enlargement technology, hot gutta-percha vertical pressure filling and other technologies can greatly improve the quality of endodontic disease and periapical disease treatment, so that some teeth that cannot be preserved using traditional methods can be treated and preserved. 5. The Prosthodontics Department of the Department of Prosthodontics has strong medical technology and advanced technical equipment. The Department of Prosthodontics is responsible for the teaching tasks of clinical practice of Peking University School of Medicine. There are currently 2 people with professional titles of deputy chief physician or above, and 4 with doctorate degrees. It maintains close cooperation with well-known universities at home and abroad, grasps the forefront of the world's repair technology, actively applies repair technology and scientific research results to clinical work, and has published several papers in core journals. 6. Oral PeriodontologyThe periodontal department is composed of periodontal specialists and hygienists with many years of experience in clinical periodontal disease treatment. They carry out high-quality periodontal disease basic treatment in strict accordance with specifications, and combine it with multi-disciplinary comprehensive treatment (dental endodontics, restoration, orthodontics) to achieve good and stable treatment results and effectively control the progress of periodontal disease. At the same time, periodontal cosmetic surgery and periodontal bone grafting are performed to improve appearance, improve quality of life, and meet the periodontal cosmetic needs of different groups of people. Currently, our department is developing a comprehensive treatment model for periodontal disease that integrates prevention, treatment, maintenance, implantation, and restoration, which is at the leading level in the country. The existing specialty clinics include: Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Clinic, Oral Dentistry and Endodontics, Oral Implantology, Orthodontics, Oral Restoration (Dental Dentures), Oral Periodontics, and Children’s Oral Dentistry. Teaching situation of the department: Since November 2011, it has become a standardized training base for resident doctors in Beijing. Starting from September 2015, it has become the eight-year clinical teaching practice base of Peking University School of Stomatology and is the out-of-hospital practice base of Peking University School of Stomatology. At the end of 2015, it became the final assessment unit for resident physicians in addition to Peking University Dental School and Beijing Dental Institute. The clinical course and internship teaching unit of "Stomatology" in the Department of Clinical Medicine of Peking University.Undertake the refresher training tasks for practicing doctors, medical consortium units, and counterpart support units across the country. The department has received honors: it won the title of "May 4th Red Flag Youth League Committee (Branch)" from 2014 to 2016 as an agency directly under the National Health and Family Planning Commission.
