Development of the family room: When the China-Japan Friendly Hospital officially opened, the ear, nose and throat department was established at the same time. In the early days of the institute, the faculty assembled the backbone forces of such units as Beijing Cooperative Hospital, Beijing University First Hospital and Beijing Hospital, under the leadership of Professor Wang Tsun-yi overcoming difficulties such as equipment shortages, gradually introducing critical devices such as microscopes, internal lenses and hearing detection systems, laying the foundation for the development of modern ear, nose and throat medicine. During the same period, he led the development of neuropathology, angiotomy hardening treatment and endoscopy and microsurgery techniques, quickly reaching then-advanced domestic levels, and initially forming a discipline. In the 1990s, under the leadership of two directors, Zhang Xiaobeng and Zheng He, the department entered a period of rapid development, making significant progress in the field of integrated treatment of head tumors, endoscopic nasal surgery and acoustic microsurgery. The Zhang Xiaob director system built theoretical systems of microsurgery and promoted the normative application of CO2 laser technology in early throat cancer treatment, significantly increasing the impact of the discipline.In 2003, Professor Zhang Akhai became the fourth director, the department entered a transversal development stage.
