Beijing Anzhen Hospital, Capital Medical University

The Department of Vascular Surgery at Beijing Anzhen Hospital, Capital Medical University, is the earliest independent vascular surgery specialty department in China. It was established concurrently with the hospital in 1984 and has now celebrated its 40th anniversary. The Chaoyang campus currently has 2 wards with 80 beds (including 20 monitored beds) and 2 dedicated hybrid operating rooms. There are 2 doctoral supervisors and 3 master's supervisors. The medical staff includes 23 physicians (including 2 in the vascular examination room), with 4 chief physicians and 8 associate chief physicians, and 36 nurses (including 5 technicians in the vascular examination room).
With the establishment of the Beijing Municipal Administrative Center in Tongzhou and the opening of the Tongzhou campus of Anzhen Hospital, the Vascular Surgery ward at the Tongzhou campus will add 46 beds. The hardware and software conditions will be significantly improved, providing patients with higher-quality medical services. Additionally, the recent addition of renowned experts from the University of Washington School of Medicine will further enhance the comprehensive strength and influence of the Vascular Surgery Center.
The Vascular Surgery Center treats a full spectrum of vascular diseases, including: aortic diseases (abdominal aortic aneurysm, thoracic aortic aneurysm, aortic dissection, coarctation of the aorta, etc.); brachiocephalic artery diseases (carotid, subclavian, and vertebral artery stenotic lesions, carotid body tumors, etc.); peripheral and visceral artery diseases (aortoiliac, femoral-popliteal, and below-knee artery stenotic/occlusive lesions, various visceral artery stenotic and dilative lesions, etc.); and venous diseases (lower extremity varicose veins, deep vein thrombosis, pulmonary embolism, etc.). It comprehensively covers all common and frequently occurring vascular surgical diseases and has extensive experience in treating rare and uncommon vascular diseases. The center is particularly adept at managing difficult and complex cases, possessing nationally leading expertise, the latest treatment methods, and advanced medical equipment. It provides professional, precise, and appropriate treatment services through open surgery, interventional therapy, and hybrid procedures.
