Nutrition Department
Beijing Anzhen Hospital, Capital Medical University
The Department of Clinical Nutrition at Beijing Anzhen Hospital, Capital Medical University, was established in 2010. It currently has a three-tier talent structure of physicians, technicians, and nurses, comprising 6 nutritionists, 3 nutrition technicians, and 1 nutrition nurse. Among them, 1 holds a doctoral degree and 4 hold master's degrees. The work of the Department of Clinical Nutrition is mainly divided into four parts:
First, nutrition consultation, especially nutritional support therapy for critically ill patients. Based on the patient's disease status, individualized nutritional support treatment plans are formulated through dietary surveys, nutritional screening, and assessment. Enteral and parenteral nutrition, oral nutritional supplements, and therapeutic diets are employed to achieve nutritional therapeutic effects, promoting patient recovery, shortening hospital stays, and reducing complications and mortality.
Second, clinical nutrition outpatient services. The nutrition outpatient clinic is operated by a diagnostic and treatment team consisting of a nutrition physician, a nutritionist, and a nutrition nurse. For various chronic diseases such as coronary heart disease, hypertension, hyperlipidemia, diabetes, hyperuricemia, cerebrovascular diseases, as well as for overweight and obese individuals, cancer patients, pregnant and postpartum women, and other populations, individualized nutritional counseling and treatment are provided through dietary surveys, body composition analysis, nutritional screening, and assessment. This plays a vital role in the prevention of chronic diseases, recovery from clinical conditions, and management of chronic illnesses.
Third, the nutrition department utilizes various channels to conduct nutrition education outside of clinical work.
Fourth, it has long been responsible for clinical nutrition teaching.
