TCM Physiotherapy Department

The Department of Traditional Chinese Medicine and Physiotherapy, Beijing Anzhen Hospital, Capital Medical University, is a key clinical department of Anzhen Hospital. It consists of an internal medicine group, an acupuncture group, a physiotherapy group, and a famous physician inheritance research office. The department currently has 23 medical staff, including 4 with senior titles, 15 with intermediate titles, and 1 nurse. Two have doctoral degrees. The department undertakes the outpatient TCM diagnosis and treatment tasks of Anzhen Hospital, as well as TCM consultations for critical and difficult cases in the wards.
For many years, it has been responsible for the teaching and clinical mentoring at the clinical department of Capital Medical University. The department fully leverages the diversity of diseases in a general hospital’s TCM department, striving to build a broad framework for the diagnosis and treatment of common clinical diseases using traditional Chinese medicine and integrated traditional Chinese and Western medicine. It highlights cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases and pulmonary diseases as specialties, and utilizes the strengths of acupuncture and physiotherapy in neurological diseases and pain conditions. It is a characteristic department with clinical medical services as the main body, and coordinated development of medical care, teaching, and research.
The Master of Chinese Medicine Fang Heqian Famous Physician Research Office and the Beijing TCM Inheritance “New 3+3” Project Fang Heqian Disciple (Liu Xinqiao) Inheritance Workstation are located in this department. His grandson, Liu Xinqiao, upholds Master Fang’s academic thoughts and clinical experience. His TCM syndrome differentiation and treatment for miscellaneous diseases of internal medicine, gynecology, and pediatrics have outstanding clinical efficacy and are highly praised by patients.
The department runs a holiday-free outpatient clinic from Monday to Sunday, with experts available every weekday from Monday to Friday. All medical staff of the department are willing to serve patients wholeheartedly with high-quality and efficient medical services.
