The Department of Hematology, Beijing Anzhen Hospital, Capital Medical University, was established in March 2013. Currently, there are 2 chief physicians, 1 associate chief physician, and 6 attending physicians. There are 5 with doctoral degrees and 4 with master’s degrees, 1 doctoral supervisor, and 2 master’s supervisors. The hematology ward has 15 beds, including 2 laminar flow beds.
The department routinely performs bone marrow cytomorphology, bone marrow pathology, immunophenotyping, hemolysis, and other related tests. It uses modern detection techniques such as flow cytometry, immunofixation electrophoresis, molecular biology, and genetics to analyze chromosomal and genetic changes in hematological diseases, enabling accurate staging and differential diagnosis of hematological malignancies such as leukemia, lymphoma, and multiple myeloma. Comprehensive treatment methods including chemotherapy and immunotherapy are used to treat hematological diseases.
The department provides specialized diagnosis and treatment services for patients with hematological diseases, such as various anemias, cytopenias, malignant hematological tumors (leukemia, lymphoma, multiple myeloma, etc.), and thrombotic diseases.
Characteristics of our department:
1. Precision and standardized treatment of hematological tumors, especially for the group of hematological tumor patients with concomitant cardiovascular diseases. We have rich experience in the treatment of leukemia and lymphoma with coronary heart disease and/or post-stent implantation, and in the diagnosis and treatment of plasma cell disorders and M-protein-related heart diseases such as multiple myeloma and myocardial amyloidosis, providing one-stop medical services and green channels for these patients.
2. Distinctive features in the management of myeloproliferative neoplasms, including vascular complication assessment, prognosis stratification, individualized treatment plan formulation, cytapheresis treatment, and systematic management.
3. For bleeding and thrombotic diseases (thrombophilia), we focus on clinical and basic research on bleeding/thrombotic diseases and provide clinical monitoring and guidance for populations with underlying cardiovascular diseases combined with platelet abnormalities.
4. Histiocytic disorders, including hemophagocytic syndrome, chronic active EBV infection, Langerhans cell histiocytosis, and other histiocytic diseases, with clinical diagnosis and treatment and basic research.
The Department of Hematology is a training site for doctoral and master’s students of Capital Medical University, and undertakes the standardized training of undergraduates, master’s and doctoral students, and resident physicians.
Currently, in addition to general outpatient clinics, expert clinics, and special needs clinics, the department also has specialized clinics for anemia, bleeding and thrombosis, myeloproliferative neoplasms, myocardial amyloidosis, and lymphoma. The aim of all staff in the hematology department is to serve patients wholeheartedly with superb medical skills and good medical ethics.
