Beijing Anzhen Hospital, Capital Medical University

The Cardiac Electrophysiology Department of Beijing Anzhen Hospital, Capital Medical University, was formed by merging the former Ward 21 of the Cardiology Department and the original ECG Room into a first-level clinical department, with Professor Zhang Yingchuan serving as the department head.
The department provides the following noninvasive cardiac examinations: electrocardiogram (ECG), 24-hour ambulatory ECG, 24-hour ambulatory blood pressure monitoring, treadmill exercise test, and tilt table test (for diagnosing vasovagal syncope). These tests assist in diagnosing coronary heart disease, cardiomyopathy, congenital heart disease, various arrhythmias, paced rhythms, hypertension, hypotension, and vasovagal syncope.
The ward has 10 beds. The ward is elegantly furnished and fully equipped with various medical and daily living facilities. Each room has two beds, a refrigerator, a color TV, a sofa, a wardrobe, a writing desk, and a private bathroom with shower.
After more than a year of development, the department's staffing structure has become more complete, and equipment has been gradually improved. A central telemetry monitoring system that can simultaneously monitor the heart rhythms of 8 patients has been added, along with one 6-lead automatic ECG analyzer with an LCD screen to greatly enhance ECG quality, one defibrillator, one B. Braun infusion pump, one microinjection pump, one temporary pacemaker, and over ten pacemaker programmers of various models.
The Cardiac Electrophysiology Department was established in August 2003. It has a total of 33 medical staff, including 2 with doctoral degrees, 1 doctoral candidate, 2 with master's degrees, 6 with bachelor's degrees, 13 with associate degrees, and 9 with secondary specialized education. The department's operations are divided into two main areas: inpatient care and examinations. The ward has 10 beds and mainly admits patients with cardiac diseases such as arrhythmias and coronary heart disease. Interventional diagnostic and therapeutic techniques such as radiofrequency ablation, pacemaker implantation, PTCA with stent placement, congenital heart disease interventions, and mitral valve dilation are performed. The examination services include ECG, treadmill exercise test, ambulatory ECG, ambulatory blood pressure monitoring, and tilt table test.
