The Department of Endocrinology at the Inner Mongolia People's Hospital was established in 1984, became an independent department in 2005, and, through generations of dedicated healthcare professionals, is now a comprehensive medical, teaching, and research unit; by 2025, it will be recognized as the leading medical and health department in the region. The research areas of the laboratory include: endogenous diseases, thyroid and bone metabolism disorders, thyroid disease, diabetes and complications of diabetes, low blood sugar-related diseases such as insulin, thyroid disease and genital disease etc. Research involves all levels of clinical medicine and basic medicine.The laboratory has 21 existing doctors, 29 nurses, 1 clinical pharmacist; There are 46 beds in the hospital, more than 2,000 patients with year-round hospitalization; over 70,000 annual outpatient clinics, excluding endocrine clinics, which also have a specialised diabetes MMC clinic, and seven sub-specialist specialty clinics such as rectal-throat gland, bone metabolism, genital gland, high uric acid and obesity. Commonly-characterized diagnoses include diabetes mellitus, insulin management, dynamic blood sugar management and the standardized metabolic disease center (MMC) etc.
