Radiology Department

Currently, our hospital has five linear accelerators (Elekta Versa HD, Varian Halcyon, Varian Truebeam, TomoTherapy, Siemens ART) and one intraoperative radiotherapy equipment (Mobetron). The positioning equipment includes: nuclear magnetic simulation positioning machine, conventional simulation positioning machine, large-aperture CT simulation positioning machine; there are 2 short-range post-installation treatment equipment, stereotactic treatment equipment (X-knife), radio frequency hyperthermia equipment, and a complete quality control equipment system. Carry out almost all new radiotherapy technologies, including dose-guided adaptive radiotherapy (ART), helical tomotherapy technology (TOMO), image-guided radiotherapy (IGRT), intensity-modulated radiotherapy technology (IMRT), three-dimensional conformal radiotherapy technology (3DCRT), multi-fraction whole-body irradiation technology, X-knife treatment technology, field image verification technology, three-dimensional brachytherapy technology, deep hyperthermia technology, etc. The department has 4 full professors, 4 associate professors, 22 with intermediate professional titles, and 29 with junior titles. There are 18 doctors, 10 physicists, 2 nurses, and 21 technicians and engineers officially on the job.Approximately 4,000 patients with tumors and benign diseases are treated every year. The main radiotherapy features of our department are: radiotherapy for gynecological tumors, radiotherapy for prostate cancer, radiotherapy for lung cancer, radiotherapy for breast cancer, intensity-modulated radiotherapy for nasopharyngeal cancer, etc. It is the first in China to carry out research on intensity-modulated radiotherapy, three-dimensional brachytherapy and adaptive radiotherapy for cervical cancer and other gynecological tumors. He has won several hospital medical achievement awards, including the first prize for medical achievement award from Union Medical College Hospital for his research on intensity-modulated radiotherapy for cervical cancer. It undertakes scientific research projects such as the National Natural Science Foundation of China and the 13th Five-Year Plan; it is the unit that awards doctorates in oncology and masters in radiation physics at the Union Medical College, and has trained more than 30 doctoral and master students; it is responsible for the clinical teaching of technicians and physicists, and has trained more than 100 technicians and physicists.
