The establishment of the Beijing Association and General Medical Department (GMO) at Peking Hospital began with a project of the Chinese Medicine Foundation in New York, USA, which aims to build a high-quality, low-cost academic urban health system in China in the 21st century. In April 2001, Beijing Medical Association Hospital, with the support of the hospital's leadership, in coordination with its internal science system, established a comprehensive internal medicine clinic, developed a multidisciplinary joint examination system. In March 2004, the Department of Internal Sciences (Division of General Internal Medicine, DGIM) was the first to establish an independent tertiary department in Beijing's Accreditation Hospital. As the first academic general internal medicine unit to integrate medical research in the country, we provide a range of healthcare services for different patient groups: common internal diseases; multiple-disease patients: we provide patients with high-quality healthcare services that coordinate basic and specialist care. Patients with difficulty identifying diagnostic specialties: including patients with multiple system impairment diagnoses that are not clear or who have a medical condition that requires coordinated diagnosis and treatment.
