Hematology Department

Since the establishment of the professional group, the Department of Hematology has clearly realized that the professional group of hematology is a member of the general internal medicine department and an important part of the general hospital. The focus of our clinical work should be for the whole internal medicine department and the whole hospital. We should not only study the primary hematological diseases, but also pay attention to the various hematological problems faced by patients from other specialties. This is the characteristic and long-term direction of the Hematology Department of Peking Union Medical College Hospital. Since its establishment, especially since the establishment of the department, relying on our hospital's leading policy and superior conditions of "close integration of medical care and research, mutual promotion of clinical and basic research", we have developed balanced development in blood subspecialties such as red blood cell diseases, hematological malignancies, hematopoietic stem cell transplantation, and hemorrhagic and thrombotic diseases. At present, the comprehensive clinical medical level of our department is at the first-class level in China, especially in the areas of red blood cell diseases and hemorrhagic and thrombotic diseases. At the same time, our department also actively provides hematological support for other brother departments in the diagnosis and treatment of critical and difficult cases, which is the backbone of our hospital as a national consultation center for difficult and severe cases.
