Gastroenterology Department

Gastroenterology is one of the earliest specialties established at Peking Union Medical College Hospital. It was personally led and cultivated by Professor Zhang Xiaoqian, a leading figure in modern internal medicine in my country, and Professor Chen Minzhang, a famous expert in gastroenterology. After several generations of hard work, gastroenterology has developed into a key discipline with great influence at home and abroad. The Department of Gastroenterology has complete sub-specialties, abundant talents, and strong clinical and laboratory technology capabilities. It is a high-level center for the diagnosis and treatment of gastroenterology, endoscopy, and difficult and severe diseases. The department has a high-level, nationwide inflammatory bowel disease and pancreatic disease diagnosis and treatment center, a digestive endoscopy training center, and a gastrointestinal function and motility disease diagnosis and treatment center.
