Patent ductus arteriosus (PDA) is one of the common types of congenital heart disease in children, accounting for about 15% of the total incidence of congenital heart disease. During the fetal period, the passive opening of the ductus arteriosus is an important channel for blood circulation. Patent ductus arteriosus is common in premature infants, with an incidence of up to 80% in infants born before 28 weeks of gestation. Functional closure occurs about 15 hours after birth, and by one year after birth, it should be completely closed anatomically. If it remains open and produces pathophysiological changes, it is called patent ductus arteriosus.
