Hyperthyroid cardiomyopathy
Internal Medicine / Surgery / Traditional Chinese Medicine
Hyperthyroid cardiomyopathy results from the effects of thyroid hormones secreted by the thyroid gland, which influence the metabolism and physiological activities of many organs to varying degrees, thereby leading to the development of cardiomyopathy. In hyperthyroidism, persistently elevated levels of T3 and/or T4 in the body exert effects on the cardiac conduction system and myocardial cells, potentially giving rise to a series of complications.
