Urticarial vasculitis
Internal Medicine / Traditional Chinese Medicine / 皮肤性病科
Urticarial vasculitis was first reported by McDuffie in 1973. It is characterized by wheal-like rashes of prolonged duration, accompanied by hypocomplementemia. Inflammatory mediators damage vascular endothelial cells, resulting in vasculitic changes manifesting as leukocytoclastic vasculitis. The etiology is unknown; some reports attribute it to hypersensitivity vasculitis caused by iodine allergy, repeated cold stimulation, and allergens such as viruses, bacteria, and parasites.
