Latent coronary atherosclerotic heart disease (latent coronary heart disease), abbreviated as latent coronary heart disease, is coronary heart disease without clinical symptoms but with objective evidence of myocardial ischemia on examination, also known as asymptomatic coronary heart disease. Patients have coronary atherosclerosis, but the lesions are relatively mild or there is good collateral circulation, or the patient has a higher pain threshold and therefore has no pain symptoms. The electrocardiographic manifestations of myocardial ischemia may be visible at rest, or may only appear when cardiac workload is increased, and are often detected by ambulatory electrocardiogram monitoring. It is also referred to as asymptomatic myocardial ischemia.
