Acute pancreatitis due to ascariasis
Internal Medicine / Surgery / Pediatrics / 感染性疾病科
Ascaris-induced acute pancreatitis is relatively rare in clinical practice. The pathogenesis is due to ascaris entering the ampulla of Vater or the pancreatic duct, causing obstruction of bile and pancreatic juice outflow, leading to a series of chemical inflammation of the pancreas. The common clinical presentation is acute edematous pancreatitis, and some patients may progress to hemorrhagic necrotizing pancreatitis.
