Mesenteric lymph node tuberculosis, also known as tuberculous mesenteric lymphadenitis, is caused by Mycobacterium tuberculosis infection. It can be primary or secondary to tuberculosis infection in other parts of the body. It mostly occurs in children, with intermittent abdominal pain and diarrhea as the main manifestations, and can lead to malnutrition and intestinal adhesions in affected children. Systematic anti-tuberculosis treatment yields good results.
