gastric hemorrhage
Internal Medicine / Surgery / Traditional Chinese Medicine
Gastric bleeding, commonly known as upper gastrointestinal bleeding, is often caused by gastric and duodenal ulcers, excessive work fatigue, irregular daily diet, and abnormal emotional stress. It is suggested that people with a history of digestive tract diseases are more prone to developing this condition; the second cause is gastric bleeding due to acute hemorrhagic gastritis. Most gastric bleeding caused by these two reasons can be effectively treated after standard treatment. Another cause is gastric bleeding due to liver cirrhosis. Patients with liver cirrhosis generally develop esophageal and gastric varices. If they consume rough food or experience excessive emotional stimulation, the variceal veins in the esophagus and stomach may rupture, causing massive bleeding. Gastric bleeding should not be underestimated. Gastric bleeding is a common clinical condition, often endangering patients' lives due to its acute onset and unclear diagnosis. Gastrointestinal bleeding is usually divided into upper gastrointestinal bleeding and lower gastrointestinal bleeding. Upper gastrointestinal bleeding refers to bleeding from the digestive tract above the ligament of Treitz, including the esophagus, stomach, and duodenum. Foreign data show that patients with upper gastrointestinal bleeding account for approximately 0.1% of the average annual total hospital admissions, with a mortality rate close to 10%.
