Esophageal cyst is a relatively rare benign esophageal mass and is residual embryonic tissue. Because its morphology resembles a benign tumor, it is generally classified among benign esophageal tumors. Its incidence ranks second only to esophageal leiomyoma, and most are located within the esophageal wall. It may produce symptoms by compressing surrounding organs. Early detection and early surgery are the only methods of treatment.
