Inflammatory bowel disease, abbreviated as IBD, is a special chronic inflammatory intestinal disease, mainly including Crohn's disease (CD) and ulcerative colitis (UC). Clinically, patients with inflammatory bowel disease present with recurrent abdominal pain, diarrhea, mucoid bloody stools, and even various systemic complications such as blurred vision, joint pain, and skin rashes. The disease may improve with treatment or resolve spontaneously. However, most patients experience recurrent episodes with prolonged course, and a considerable proportion of them require surgical treatment due to complications.
