Aflatoxin is a mycotoxin that mainly damages the human liver and kidneys and is highly carcinogenic. The clinical manifestations of aflatoxin poisoning mainly include anorexia, vomiting, and gastrointestinal bleeding. China stipulates that the allowable limit of aflatoxin in rice and edible oils is 10 ug/kg, and 5 ug/kg for other grains, legumes, and fermented foods. It must not be detected in infant substitute milk foods. The World Health Organization recommends a maximum allowable limit of 15 ng/kg for aflatoxin in food and feed. 30-50 ug/kg is low toxicity, 50-100 ug/kg is moderate toxicity, 100-1000 ug/kg is high toxicity, and above 1000 ug/kg is extremely toxic. Its toxicity is 10 times that of potassium cyanide and 68 times that of arsenic.
