Bacterial enteritis

Internal Medicine / Traditional Chinese Medicine

Bacterial enteritis is an inflammatory condition in gastroenterology, with types including Salmonella, Campylobacter, Escherichia coli, etc., caused by unhygienic dietary habits. The basic clinical manifestations include frequent diarrhea with large amounts of watery stools, no pus or blood, generally no abdominal pain, no tenesmus, often accompanied by vomiting, prone to dehydration, electrolyte imbalance, and acidosis, with relatively mild systemic toxic symptoms. Treatment may use antibiotics such as amoxicillin and penicillin. Before medication, stool routine examination and bacterial culture should be performed at the hospital, and appropriate antibiotics should be selected according to the type of bacteria grown.
