Colonic lipoma is a common non-epithelial benign tumor of the large intestine. Cells of colonic tissue undergo abnormal proliferation, showing expansive growth, gradually enlarging like a balloon being inflated, with relatively slow growth. As the tumor continuously increases in size, it may compress surrounding tissues. It is more commonly seen in the proximal colon, especially the cecum.
