Acrodermatitis enteropathica syndrome is a rare chronic skin disease. It was first reported by Brandt in 1936, hence the name Brandt syndrome. In 1942, Danbolt and Closs described it in detail, so it is also called Danbolt-Closs syndrome. The main features of this disease are skin erosion, alopecia, nail dystrophy and paronychia, and gastrointestinal dysfunction. This disease often occurs in infants aged 3 weeks to 18 months.
