Pancreatic sarcoma refers to malignant tumors originating from the mesenchymal tissue of the pancreas. Primary pancreatic sarcomas reported in domestic and international literature include leiomyosarcoma, chondrosarcoma, malignant fibrous histiocytoma, fibrosarcoma, rhabdomyosarcoma, malignant schwannoma, angiosarcoma, and malignant hemangiopericytoma, all of which are case reports. Among the pancreatic sarcomas reported in the literature, leiomyosarcoma is the most common. A search of domestic literature in CBM from 1994 to 2000 found 13 articles, of which 8 were case reports of primary pancreatic sarcoma, all being leiomyosarcoma (6 cases in total), and 5 articles on metastatic sarcoma of the pancreas.
