Antimony poisoning is mostly caused by the misuse of large amounts of antimony agents, such as antimony potassium tartrate, sodium stibocaptate, sodium stibogluconate, antimony anticancer agents, as well as accidental ingestion of antimony-containing dyes or safety match heads (containing antimony sulfide). It can also be caused by ingesting acidic foods or beverages stored in antimony-containing containers, or food contaminated with antimony agents.
