Esophageal-origin chest pain refers to chest pain caused by esophageal diseases or esophageal dysfunction. Its typical symptom is heartburn accompanied by paroxysmal pain behind or below the sternum, which is squeezing or burning in nature, usually occurring 30-60 minutes after meals, closely resembling "angina pectoris." It can be induced by irritating foods, exercise, or emotional stress, and may also occur spontaneously.
