geriatric drug-induced liver disease

Internal Medicine / 感染性疾病科

Drug-induced liver disease in the elderly, abbreviated as DILD, refers to liver damage caused by drugs or their metabolites. It can occur in healthy individuals with no previous history of liver disease or in patients with pre-existing serious diseases, who develop varying degrees of liver damage after using a certain drug; all such cases are termed drug-induced liver disease. Currently, at least 600 types of drugs can cause DILD, and its manifestations are the same as those of various human liver diseases, which may present as hepatocyte necrosis, cholestasis, intracellular microvesicular steatosis, chronic hepatitis, or cirrhosis.
