Duodenal stasis syndrome refers to a clinical syndrome caused by duodenal obstruction due to various reasons, resulting in dilatation of the proximal portion of the obstructed duodenum and accumulation of chyme. The main manifestations are upper abdominal pain and fullness, which usually occur during or after eating, along with nausea and vomiting of bilious material. Sometimes patients may intentionally induce vomiting to relieve the symptoms of upper abdominal fullness.
