Myocarditis refers to inflammatory lesions of the myocardium caused by various causes. Multiple factors such as infection, physical and chemical agents can cause myocarditis. The degree of myocardial damage varies greatly, and clinical manifestations differ. Mild cases may be asymptomatic, while severe cases can develop heart failure, cardiogenic shock, or even sudden death. Most patients recover after treatment. Some patients develop dilated cardiomyopathy changes after the acute phase and may experience recurrent heart failure.
